Lasallian International Students' Fellowship Activity

OVERVIEW

In response to PIFO's challenge of bringing together foreign students from different Lasallian schools, International Students Office heads from DLS-CSB, DLSM and DLSU-D convened and planned in November 2009 an activity that is meant to start a series of activities for foreign students in Lasallian institutions in Luzon. It was agreed that DLSU-Dasmariñas will spearhead the event which will basically be a tour of DLSU-Dasmariñas and Museo De La Salle. A young Lasallian Brother will also be invited to speak before the participants as resource person for the formation component.

DETAILS
  1. The fellowship activity will be held on January 29, 2010 in DLSU-Dasmariñas.
  2. Invited Lasallian institutions are: De La Salle Araneta University, De La Salle Canlubang, DLS-Health Sciences Institute, DLS-College of St. Benilde, DLSU Manila and De La Salle Lipa. Each institution is asked to send a maximum of ten foreign student participants who must be: 1) at least in their sophomore year; and are 2) emerging or current student leaders.
  3. A registration fee of Php300 shall be charged per participant to cover meals for the whole day activity, the tour and seminar/formation. Check payments must be made payable to De La Salle University – Dasmariñas. Confirmation of participation must be made on or before January 9, 2009.

Important Reminder to All International Students

The International Center is in the process of updating the records of all international students (IS) enrolled at De La Salle University. The Philippine Bureau of Immigration (BI) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) require these documents to be filed and updated at all times, as these papers are necessary for monitoring IS. Subsequently, a regular report will be generated and submitted by our office to the government agencies concerned.

Please visit the International Center at LS Building Room 114 to update/submit your documents as follows:

  • Visa Copy (first issuance)
  • Visa Extension (if applicable)
  • Alien Certificate of Registration or (ACR) I-Card
  • Passport Validity (pages where you have your picture and details, and the latest visa stamp)
  • Annual Report Receipt for 2009
  • Special Study Permit (SSP) (for Audit students and those under 18 years old)
  • SRRV or SIRV Card (for those using Special Retirees Visa or Special Investors Visa)
  • Certificate of Recognition as a Filipino (for Dual Citizens)
  • Updated International Student Personal Data Sheet, which can be downloaded here.

Please note the procedures to follow:

  1. Submit photocopies (but bring original documents for verification purposes) during office hours at LS Building, Room 114. Look for Ms. Ohda Caballero (International CenterCoordinator) or Ms. Ella (Secretary).
  2. Initially, the DLSU ID of those IS who will not be able to submit nor update their documents will be temporarily regulated/invalidated pending submission of documents.
  3. Enrollment for the succeeding term will be put on hold for those IS who will not be able to submit nor update their documents.
  4. An updated list of IS who have not completed their requirements will be given to the colleges and the Office of the University Registrar for their information and action.

Attention Incoming Freshmen International Students

Below are the documents you have to submit to the International Center at LS Building Room 114 before the Coordinator releases your clearance for confirmation of enrollment (photocopies only, but bring the original for verification):

  • Passport photo-data page
  • Visa Copy
  • Visa Extension (if applicable)
  • Alien Certificate of Registration or ACR I-Card
  • Annual Report Receipt
  • Certificate of Recognition as a Filipino (for Dual Citizens only)
  • International Student Information Sheet

Note: For those on tourist or travel visa, submit your documents for student visa conversion to the International Center.

Student Visa Extension

You can now request your Letter of Acceptance or Certificate of Enrollment from the International Center by using your e-mail! Here’s how:

Step 1: Create an e-mail message with the subject VISA EXTENSION
Step 2: Write your FULL NAME, DEGREE/PROGRAM, ID NUMBER and the Expiry Date of your current student visa
Step 3: Send to rhodora.caballero@dlsu.edu.ph
Step 4: You will receive an e-mail reply with the forms that you need for the extension of your visa and the date when you can claim your Letter of Acceptance/Certificate of Enrollment. Processing period is five (5) days.

This service is free of charge.
