Overview
The School of Economics is today a place of flourishing for faculty and students. Its faculty have received national awards for teaching and research from the NAST, Metrobank Foundation, CHED, etc., and the current roster features a vibrant mix of young scholars with international training, seasoned mentors (four of them University Fellows), and a steady stream of distinguished overseas visiting professors. SOE faculty have served in government, been senior fellows at leading research institutes, officers of the Philippine Economic Society, and consultants to national and international agencies. The School’s alumni include cabinet officials, renowned academics, and leaders in business, the professions, even the arts and sport. Its graduates have gained admission to top programmes overseas (Oxford, Yale, MIT, Stanford, Sorbonne, NUS, etc.). Every year, its majors reap a disproportionate number of academic and non-academic awards from university and national award-giving bodies, a final testament to the culture of excellence and Lasallian mentoring that animates DLSU Economics.
