Maria Elena Sevrina O. Cruz is an educator and research psychologist based in Manila, Philippines. With a robust academic background, she holds a Master of Science in Psychology with a specialization in social and cultural psychology from De La Salle University, where she is also pursuing her Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology, focusing on human development.
Since 2017, Cruz has served as a Research Assistant at the Research Ethics Office of De La Salle University, coordinating operations and ethics reviews for academic research proposals. Her commitment to education is evident in her role as a part-time College Lecturer at De La Salle University since 2023, where she teachespsychology courses and mentors students in thesis writing. Previously, she lectured at various institutions, including La Salle Antipolo.
Cruz’s research interests are reflected in her numerous conference presentations, notably her work on the dynamics of communication within transnational families and the psychological well-being of Filipino adolescents.
In addition to her teaching and research roles, Cruz has demonstrated leadership as the Research Director at San Pablo Colleges from 2018 to 2021, where she designed research studies and supervised faculty research activities. Her diverse expertise is further complemented by certifications in executive coaching and data science.
