Elenita D. Garcia

Associate Provost and Full Professor

Educational Background

Dr. Leni Garcia is a Full Professor at the Department of Philosophy, De La Salle University (DLSU). She currently serves as the Associate Provost of DLSU and Director of the Lasallian Core Curriculum Program but also served in the past as Chair of the Department of Philosophy, Director of the Research and Publication Office of CLA, and Assistant Dean for Research and Advanced Studies also for the College of Liberal Arts. She initiated the annual DLSU Arts Congress in 2007 and served as its convenor for several years. She is a UBCHEA-Asian Interfaith Dialogue Network Fellow, Catholic University of America’s Council for Research in Values and Philosophy Fellow, Mahidol University Visiting Fellow for the Center for Buddhist Studies, and a MASHAV Scholar. She researches and publishes on non-Western philosophies, Existential Philosophy, alternative ontologies, epistemologies, and aesthetics. She is the proponent of DLSU’s Inclusive Vision for Equitable, Diverse, and Sensitive Education or project DIVERSE, and is a member of the Ban on Single-use Plastic on Campus Committee (BOSUPOC).
