Reflecting on a Meaningful Human Rights, Democracy, and Peace Month
Over the past weeks, the Lasallian community has united to promote hope, solidarity, and peace. Here’s a recap of our inspiring activities:
The month-long celebration began with the Opening Holy Eucharist Celebration on September 25 at Santuario De La Salle, bringing together participants in prayer and reflection. This spiritual gathering set the tone for the following activities, reminding everyone of the importance of community, compassion, and shared responsibility.
On September 30, the Walk & Prayer for Peace, participated by the Gr. 8 Junior High School students, took them on a symbolic journey, embodying the collective hope for a peaceful future. As they walked, participants prayed for harmony and peace, fostering solidarity and unity among people of different backgrounds.
The observance ended solemnly with a prayer gathering and candle lighting on October 2, which was participated in by the Laguna Campus Student Government (LCSG) officers and student volunteers from different offices and units. Candles were lit as symbols of hope, justice, and peace, reinforcing the belief that even the smallest light can drive out darkness.
The gathering was a powerful reminder that building a world anchored in democracy and human rights requires the participation of every individual.
This year’s Human Rights, Democracy, and Peace Month was a celebration and a call to action—a reminder that peace begins with each of us. As the month-long celebration ended today, October 21, we invite everyone to a renewed commitment to uphold human rights, nurture democracy, and promote peace in their daily lives.
Together, we continue working toward a future where peace, justice, and freedom thrive, ensuring that these values remain at the heart of our communities.
Thank you to everyone who participated and made this month so meaningful. Let’s continue working towards a world built on human rights, democracy, and lasting peace.
