Partners’ Formation 1: Fostering Leadership and Development

De La Salle University hosted Partners’ Formation 1 on Saturday, November 23, 2024, marking the first in-person training under the Partnership and Network Development Program (PNDP) and the Adult and Advocacy Formation Program (AAFP). Held at the Br. Andrew Gonzalez Hall, the event gathered 33 Social Engagement (SE) partners to focus on Lasallian leadership inspired by St. John Baptist’s organizational principles. The Formation activity is part of the Lasallian Mission Week Celebration last November 18-23, 2024. The program emphasized strengthening partnerships, addressing organizational needs, and fostering collaborative efforts for community development.
The event opened with an engaging icebreaker activity, followed by a welcome address from Mr. Juanito Alcazar, Director of COSCA, highlighting COSCA’s impactful collaborations with DLSU students. Key sessions included Effective Communication and Conflict Management, led by esteemed facilitators, including Ms. Diana Genevive Layag and Ms. Ma. Dinah Asiatico from the Student Discipline Formation Office. These workshops equipped participants with practical tools to enhance communication and conflict-resolution strategies within their organizations. Additionally, a case workshop explored various communication styles, fostering self-awareness and collaborative problem-solving.
In the afternoon, Mr. Ricky Cabugsa led a reflective session on integrating Lasallian values into conflict management practices. Participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to connect face-to-face, emphasizing the depth of interaction and mutual learning achieved through in-person engagement. The event concluded with participants sharing insights and action plans, reaffirming their commitment to advancing the mission of the Lasallian community through effective leadership and organizational development.
