ADVOCACY AND ADULT FORMATION

The Program and Resource Development Unit (PRDU) anchors its efforts on COSCA’s desire to broaden and expand social engagement and ensure the continued implementation of COSCA’s programs through knowledge management, proper documentation, evaluative research, development of materials, and resource mobilization. PRDU strives to contribute to knowledge development on social engagement by maximizing available technology to monitor social engagement (SE) initiatives.

The Social Technology Development (STD) program was conceived as a support program to the four major programs in terms of data processing, theory-building, technology development and knowledge-based management. Its five (5) key functions are the following:

RESEARCH & EVALUATION

Evaluate social formation and community engagement efforts using measures based on the Lasallian Guiding Principles, Community Engagement Framework, Catholic Social Teachings and Authentic Christian Humanism.

TECHNOLOGY &
MATERIALS DEVELOPMENT

Propose innovative models, materials, tools, measures and programs on social formation and community engagement based on the Lasallian Guiding Principles, Community Engagement Framework, Catholic Social Teachings and Authentic Christian Humanism.

KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT & DISSEMINATION

Provide updated, accurate and accessible information on the accomplishments, documentation and research related to the Community Engagement measures stated in the DLSU Strategic Plan for 2016-2020.

DOCUMENTATION

Provide detailed and accessible documentation that would support reported accomplishments on the Community Engagement measures stated in the DLSU Strategic Plan for 2016 – 2020.

NETWORKING & LINKAGES

Collaborate with COSCA subprograms and DLSU research units in the conduct of research and technology development efforts in their area of expertise.
