Local fisherfolk organizations collaborate in vision-defining workshop

Barangay Lumaniag, Lian, Batangas — On June 15, 2024, two partner people’s organizations of the De La Salle University (DLSU) Center for Social Concern and Action (COSCA) gathered for a transformative workshop aimed at shaping their future aspirations. The organizations, Samahan ng Mandaragat sa Sulok and SAGIP Kabarangay at Mandaragat, took part in this collaborative event to define their visions both individually and collectively.

Held in the serene coastal barangay of Lumaniag, Lian, Batangas, the workshop provided a platform for members to articulate their dreams and aspirations. Participants engaged in a series of activities designed to harness their community’s resources and personal skills to contribute to the realization of these visions.

The workshop concluded with the formulation of action plans that align with the newly defined visions. These plans include initiatives for sustainable fishing practices, environmental conservation efforts, and community-based livelihood projects. Moving forward, the organizations aim to implement these strategies with continued support from DLSU COSCA and other stakeholders.
