COSCA hosts learning session on mangrove planting and crab fattening
The De La Salle University (DLSU) Center for Social Concern and Action (COSCA), in collaboration with the DLSU Br. Alfred FSC Marine Station (BrAMS), successfully conducted a learning session on Mangrove Planting and Sustained Care, as well as Crab Fattening. The event, held on June 14, 2024, aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of various people’s organizations from Barangays Lumaniag and Binubusan.
Dr. Emilia T. Quintino, an expert in marine biology, led the crab fattening session, providing valuable insights and techniques to the participants. Ms. Russel Christine Corcino also served as a resource person, contributing her expertise in mangrove planting and environmental conservation.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment from the participants to apply the knowledge gained in their respective communities. The organizers expressed their gratitude to the resource persons and participants for their active involvement and dedication to environmental sustainability.
This learning session is a significant step towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to life below water (SDG 14), sustainable communities (SDG 11), and decent work and economic growth (SDG 8).
