
The De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute (DLSMHSI) in Dasmariñas City, Cavite will award two scholarships under the St. La Salle Bright Futures Medical Education Scholarship (formerly Dean Recommended Academic scholarships in the Doctor of Medicine Program) to qualified applicants recommended by the DLSU College of Science Dean. The scholarship covers 100% of the total fees including miscellaneous and other fees. Recipients shall continue to enjoy these benefits until completion of the degree, provided they pass the yearly performance academic review of the Collegiate Scholarship Committee of DLSMHSI.
- Filipino citizenship
- No grade of 0.0 or W (Withdrawn grade given by faculty) in any academic course
- NMAT score in at least the 95th percentile
- Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (as reflected on the latest transcript of records)
- Graduates or graduating student in any course in the College of Science who will enroll in the medicine proper program at DLSMHSI College of Medicine in AY 2025-2026. (Note: BS Human Biology students can apply during their second year or in their last year in the program provided they have taken the NMAT and obtained at least 95th percentile.)
- Applicants should accomplish the Google Form. BS Human Biology students must in addition, submit a certified true copy of semestral grade from the College of Medicine of DLSMHSI.
- The application period is from April 21 to May 16, 2025.
- Applications will be reviewed by the Selection Committee.
- The first round of selection will be based on a modified computation of the cumulative GPA. Minimum modified cGPA grade required is 3.0
- Qualifiers for the second round of selection will be interviewed.
- The Selection Committee shall rank the applicants based on modified cGPA and interview.
- Results will be announced on June 14, 2025.
- Academic Excellence
This will be based on modified cGPA. The rationale is to put emphasis on excellence in science, without disregarding the performance in non-science academic courses, all of which contribute to the holistic development of the individual. Computation is as follows:
cGPA in science courses 60%
cGPA in non-science academic courses 40% - Interview: Applicants with a minimum cGPA of 3.0 will be called for a panel interview.
