I engage in multidisciplinary research, applying statistical models in data-intensive fields such as the physical and social sciences. Particular studies include evaluation of genotoxic capabilities of B. alba on MCF-7 cells, discrimination of civet and non-civet coffee using metabolomics data, investigation of factors affecting risk behaviors and positive development outcomes among Filipino youth of transnational family structures, and describing the profile of Filipino children 9-17 years old who use the internet.
I obtained my Ph.D., M.S., and B.S. in Statistics (cum laude) degrees from the University of the Philippines Los Baños. I worked on measures of hunger in the Philippines using food consumption data for my dissertation.
