Dr. Eligio S. V. Maghirang is a faculty member of the Biology Department in De La Salle University teaching biology courses in the undergraduate and graduate programs. He is an alumnus of the Biology Program of The College of Science- DLSU Manila and earned his Doctor of Medicine at The De La Salle Health Sciences Institute. He specialized in Emergency Medicine at The Makati Medical Center and is a Fellow and Diplomate of the Philippine College of Emergency Medicine. He obtained his certification on Healthcare Ethics from The National Bioethics Center in PA, USA. Over the years, he has held positions in various capacities in multiple medical institutions, associations, committees and organizations. His involvement ranged from being an attending medical doctor, faculty, facilitator, instructor to consultancy in Continuing Medical Education projects and endeavors revolving mainly in Best Practices in Emergency and Critical Care, Medical Humanities and Bioethics. His current engagements outside DLSU focuses actively on Medical Education- Training/Research in Asian Hospital and Medical Center and The Makati Medical Center. His research and collaborations with other researchers cover topics in Chronobiology, Standards of Practices, Bioethics/Healthcare Ethics Community Medicine, Trauma and Human Physiology. He is actively involved as a participant and as a resource person in local and international conventions, conferences and scientific assemblies to stay current in his competencies and credentials in his subject matter expertise.
