ABOUT US

The Social Engagement Committee of the Department of Philosophy at De La Salle University (DLSU), with the generous support of the United Board of Christian Higher Education in Asia (UBCHEA), offers the asynchronous online Teaching Participatory Action Research for Community Impact Course. It promotes the whole-person education philosophy of DLSU and UBCHEA. It equips stakeholders with the necessary tools to develop competencies and create relevant policies for the greater good. This course supports the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which will be incorporated into the different aspects of the course.

The course is designed to train educators in higher education to teach students how to conduct research for social transformation. The aim is to equip these educators with the necessary skills to mentor young adults and help them make meaningful contributions toward transformation. The course promotes culturally sensitive teaching practices that involve carefully preparing materials, respectful engagement with community members, and empowering students to communicate research results to the community for feedback and adoption
