DLSU inks DOD with EDA Scholarships and Charities, Inc.

De La Salle University formalizes its partnership with the EDA Scholarships and Charities, Inc. for the establishment of the Evelyn D. Ang Memorial Fund. The event was held last December 14, 2022 at the Nickel Asia Corporation (NAC), Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

The signing of the deed of donation was spearheaded by the donor, Mr. Philip T. Ang, with DLSU President Br. Bernard S. Oca FSC and DLSU Science Foundation Inc. President Br. Raymundo B. Suplido FSC.

Mr. Ang established the memorial fund in honor of his beloved wife, Mrs. Evelyn Dy Pac Ang, who was devoted to helping the sick and the marginalized. The Evelyn D. Ang Memorial Fund aims to continue Mrs. Ang’s advocacy and will pave the way for the establishment of the following: (1) Evelyn D. Ang Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Health Technologies (EDA-IBEHT); (2) endowment for the EDA-IBEHT; (3) Evelyn D. Ang Scholarships under the College of Science (COS) for Human Biology and other programs; (4) four Professorial Chairs under the COS Department; and (5) research fund for 4 research grants with at least one Scopus paper or Web of Science – indexed journal publication as output.

The EDA-IBEHT will focus on accelerating the development of biomedical devices and technologies by providing state-of-the-art facilities and services to research universities and institutions; enabling them to transform their ideas into market-ready products.

The DOD signing was also attended by DLSU top administrators Provost Dr. Robert Roleda, College of Science Dean Dr. Glenn Alea, and IBEHT Director Dr. Nilo Bugtai.
