Chemistry Department

The Chemistry Department is recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) as a Center of Excellence. It offers programs designed to provide students with a good foundation in the basic sciences, particularly in Chemistry. The Department emphasizes basic physical and chemical principles including training in laboratory skills, scientific research, and the use of computers. Courses in the humanities and social sciences are integrated to provide the perspective that will direct scientific efforts toward national concerns.

Two programs are offered. The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry program prepares the students for the chemistry profession in industry, in teaching or for further graduate work. The Bachelor of Science Major in Chemistry program provides students adequate preparation for medical professional schools.
