Overview

COEThe Gokongwei College of Engineering (GCOE) stands as a model institution of research, as it supports research projects that responds to the needs of both the industrialized and the rural areas in the country. It has earned recognition from reputable organizations for research conducted by faculty and students and which have significantly contributed to national development.

The Gokongwei College of Engineering underscored relevant and progressive curriculum, a faculty roster of top caliber acedemicians and industry practitioners, and modern laboratories and state-of-the-art equipment in the formation of highly-skilled, morally-grounded, and service-oriented engineering professionals.

Among the biggest achievements of the College was earning the highest accreditation given by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), with three of its departments named as Centers of Excellence.

In the bigger picture, De La Salle University-Manila is the only private Philippine university selected by ASEAN to be part of the Southeast Asian Engineering Education Network (SEED-Net). In partnership with 16 other leading universities from the region, La Salle takes a major role in human resource development not only in the field of engineering but also in information technology.

Vision-Mission

The De La Salle University's Gokongwei College of Engineering was founded in 1947 to train young men in science and technology for the rehabilitation of Philippine Industry then devastated by the ravages of World War II. After half a century of carrying out its mission, the College has become a national leader in engineering education and research producing Centers of Excellence in various engineering programs.

As an integral part of a university that envisions to become a leading research institution with significant international impact and strong local commitment, the College of Engineering is positioned to make major contributions by providing leadership and innovation in engineering and related fields to assist in the economic and social development of the Philippines.

  • To become a leading research institution in South East Asia for enhancing the base of engineering knowledge and by developing materials and technology that will help improve the quality of life.
