VISIONWe are a community of scholars imbued with Christian values who have the passion to contribute to national development and social well-being. We are committed to creating and sharing knowledge in Computer Science and ICT as the premiere educational institution in Southeast Asia, recognized globally as the Philippine benchmark for quality education and research.
We nurture the academic community in a culture that develops the total person.
We hone leaders in technical, professional and entrepreneurial domains and train them to adapt to fast-changing technologies and environments. We take the lead in the innovation of new technologies and their applications through cutting-edge research and state-of-the-art learning infrastructure. We pursue opportunities for immersion, consulting, and technology commercialization, working closely with our partners in industry, government, and academe.
We inspire each one to fervently work for the common good, and help those in need, especially the poor and the marginalized.
The College of Computer Studies (CCS) is an educational institution committed to its three-pronged vision of continually sharing knowledge and expertise through teaching, engaging in Computer Science research and Information Technology product development, and rendering service to communities in need. CCS upholds the tradition of excellence embodied by the Lasallian education. Through its intensive undergraduate programs that emphasize actual implementation of theories and of project-oriented and real world environment, the College develops experts in computer science, computer engineering, and information technology, equipping its students to become tomorrow's leaders in industry, academe, and government. The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) program of the college was the first CS program in the country to be accredited by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU) and it has earned a Level III accreditation from PAASCU in 2005. The college is also recognized as one of the Commission on Higher Education's Center of Excellence (COE) in Information Technology Education in the National Capital Region (NCR) since 2007.
Students can specialize in any of the five (5) undergraduate programs offered:
The College encourages and supports the professional development of its faculty through involvement in scholarly, significant, and relevant research and publications, the attainment of advanced degrees, participation in professional pursuits, exposure to multiple disciplines, and the establishment of strong linkages with the private sector, the government, and the global academic community. These are made possible through the key centers of the college, namely Advanced Research Institute for Informatics, Computing and Networking (AdRIC), Consulting and Education Center (CEC), and Cisco Academy Training Center (CATC).
The College currently operates under a three-department set-up. Its student population has stabilized at 1,800 (including graduate and undergraduate students), and its faculty pool consists of around 50 full-time faculty members (the largest in the country) with diverse areas of specializations. Currently, at least 90% of its faculty members (the largest ratio in the country) have earned graduate degrees (master's and doctorate) from both local and foreign universities. Its faculty members aggressively publish their research in national and international venues and are actively involved in consulting for industry. Students likewise are able to publish their thesis results, have been accepted into CS graduate and research programs in top universities abroad, and are employed by top local and multi-national companies
