Poster Presentation

The Poster Presentation is an exhibition of research concepts, collaborations, innovations, and products of various strands and tracks through a virtual display of research posters. This exhibit will particularly show the relevance and contribution of the presenters’ research work in their chosen discipline.

Business Concept Bazaar

Originally designed as a bazaar, the Business Presentation will provide an opportunity for future business professionals to exhibit their entrepreneurial skills, showcase their innovative products, and to contribute to the various fields in business knowledge. The business concepts shall be supported by sound business plans that promote product sustainability and social responsibility while the business research papers share findings in business operations, management, marketing, accounting, and economics.

BUSINESS CONCEPT BAZAAR REQUIREMENTS

  1. Submission of the Business Plan or Business Research (includes research in Production, Marketing, Organizational Behavior, Finance, Accounting and Economics) is required of all participants who intend to showcase their business concepts or present their research.
  2. The Business Plan should contain the following:

Arts-Based Research Presentation

The Arts-Based Research Presentation (formerly Art Performances and Exhibitions) is a platform for emerging scholar-artists whose research and/or creative works respond to the pressing challenges of a digitally connected, crisis-proactive society through innovation, provocation, or mediation. This event is open for artists or researchers engaged in the visual arts, design and applied arts, digital arts, film, creative writing, performing arts, music, dance, and community-based art projects.

Arts-Based Research Presentation Requirements

1. The Congress invites student researchers and artists to submit their arts-based research or fully documented creative work. Submissions can fall into any of the following categories:

2. Entries for this Congress Event should use the Arts-Based Research Template. Interested participants must download the format and edit with Microsoft Word.

3. With the template above, interested participants are required to submit an academic paper accompanied by their artwork attachments. Please see the 4th DLSU Research Primer for the required attachments for the selected category.

4. Interested participants MUST submit their original work and declare authenticity. This event also allows works that have been presented in other conferences, exhibited in galleries or art spaces, screened in film festivals, or performed in theaters and stages.

5. ONLY finished and complete manuscript and artworks will be accepted.

6. The panel reviewers reserve the right to reject or accept art research and creative works. Some accepted works may be given instructions for further revision and improvement. This is to streamline the works with the curatorial directive of this Congress event.

Master Class

The Master Class is a venue for global educational leaders in visualizing together the changes and constructs for a post-pandemic research program. DLSU SHS Research Congress aims to be a unifying opportunity for local and international faculty-researchers as this is a space for discourses about improving educational programs within their schools and districts through learning engagement from various Lasallian masters of the field. The event encourages mentors and scholars across countries to apply, collaborate, and integrate in the pursuit of sustainable actions through research.

 

Speakers

Dr. Maricar S. Prudente

“Changes in Classroom Practice” & “Effects of Program Restructuring”

Dr. Maricar S. Prudente is presently a Full Professor of the Science Education Department of De La Salle University-Manila. As an educator, Dr. Prudente has served as administrator in various capacities at De La Salle University-Manila – as Academic Chairperson of the Science Education Department and as Research Director of the Lasallian Institute for Development and Educational Research (LIDER). Dr. Prudente has also served as a resource person, facilitator and coordinator in various seminars, workshops and training programs dealing with action research, environmental issues, science education, and technology integration. She is the Chairperson and Organizer of the Action Research Action Learning (ARAL) International Congress held annually at De La Salle University-Manila. She has been involved in international projects on Action Research such as: Action Research to Innovate Science Teaching (ARTiST) and the Global Climate Change Literacy (GCCL). Her involvement in research was recognized in 2015 when she was awarded the Lasallian Pillar of Excellence in Research by De La Salle University-Manila. Her current Google Scholar profile shows a total of 150 publications in peer-reviewed high impact journals with a total citations at 7,741 and an h-index of 32, placing her among one of the top researchers in the country. In recognition of her research works, Prof. Prudente received the 2015 Lifetime National Achievement Award by the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP). Prof. Prudente was also recently recognized as the 2018 Outstanding Filipino JSPS Fellow in the field of Education by the Department of Science and Technology. Among her peers, Dr. Prudente was elected for two terms as the Chair of Division 1- Educational, Governmental and International Policies of NRCP for FY 2016-2019. Presently, she sits a Vice President of the National Governing Board of the BIOTA (Biology Teachers Association) of the Philippines.

“New Understanding of Learners”

Dr. Feorillo Petronillo A. Demeterio III is a Full Professor 10 of the Department of Filipino, College of Liberal Arts, and the Director of the University Research Coordination Office, De La Salle University. He is the author of the books Ang mga Ideolohiyang Politikal ng Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (2012), Ferdinand Blumentritt and the Philippines (2013), and The Socio-Political Discourses of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (2018), as well as of various essays on hermeneutics, cultural studies, Philippines studies, and Filipino philosophy that are published in a number of local and international journals. He also co-authored the books From Exceptionality to Exceptional: Inclusion of Differently Abled Persons in the Workplace (2014), and Cataloguing and Baselining the Filipino-Spanish Churches of the Diocese of Maasin, on the Island of Leyte (2020). He served as a visiting research professor at the Council for Research in Values and Philosophy, Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C., in 2013. In 2014, Dr. Demeterio was recognized as an outstanding alumnus in the field of philosophy by the Graduate School of the University of Santo Tomas. He is a co-founder of the Andrew Gonzalez Philippine Citation Index.

Mr. Christian Gopez is a faculty and the Research Coordinator of the Senior High School Department of DLSU Integrated School. He graduated Magna Cum Laude and Balagtas Awardee from Philippine Normal University Manila and Master of Arts in Philippine Studies – Language, Culture, and Media from De La Salle University. He has published, presented, and conducted researches related to technology, language, culture, and media. Currently, he is an editorial consultant of Sinaya Journal and is finishing his PhD Philippine Studies at De La Salle University.

Ms. Liezl Rillera-Astudillo is an experienced educator with an extensive background in teaching Behavioral Sciences courses and Social Science Statistics, conducting social science research, and facilitating different training activities. She wrote a number of academic and commissioned research papers. She was part of the Editorial Board of INTERPERSONA, an International Journal on Personal Relationships, and is a reviewer of SAGE Open. In 2014, she was conferred the best consultant and adviser by the Armed Forces of the Philippines Civil-Military Operations School (AFP-CMOS) for her exemplary, outstanding contribution and invaluable service rendered. In 2018, she authored a Personal Development Textbook entitled “Journey Towards Becoming an Integrated Person”. At present, she is the Research and Development Director at De La Salle University Integrated School.
