SDRC Team Conducts First Capacity-Building Workshop for 2024 at SLSU

The Social Development Research Center (SDRC) of De La Salle University conducted a successful capacity-building workshop on qualitative and quantitative research at Southern Leyte State University on April 29 and 30. The workshop aimed to equip SLSU faculty members and staff with the skills necessary for conducting research and developing it into publishable materials.

SDRC Director Dr. Homer Yabut opened the session with a presentation entitled “Our Commitment: Advancing Research in Higher Education Institutions,” and later gave an introduction to quantitative research. DLSU Department of Sociology and Behavioral Science faculty and SDRC research fellows Dr. Crisanto Regadio, Jr. and Dr. Zaldy Collado rendered presentations on quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and on qualitative research and its practice, respectively. Assisting the speakers was SDRC core staff member Reynaldo Porsuelo.

The workshop was well-attended, and esteemed SDRC research fellows led the event. The session demonstrated the commitment of both institutions to empower researchers through collaboration and capacity building.
