Orientation on DOST-GIA Proposal Writing

On January 17, 2024, the Social Development Research Center (SDRC) conducted an orientation surrounding the proposal writing for the Department of Science and Technology – Grants-in-Aid (DOST-GIA). This orientation aims to introduce the DOST-GIA program to research fellows and faculty members and to motivate them to conceptualize and submit their proposals.

Dr. Allan Bernardo, research fellow and core group member of SDRC, led the orientation with the support of SDRC Director Dr. Homer Yabut. The orientation was joined by several faculty members from different departments. Dr. Bernardo hoped that the said orientation would push faculty members to create proposals focusing on mental health and well-being in preparation for the DOST-GIA program opening this year.

Following this, Dr. Bernardo and Dr. Yabut hopes to continue this program with a proposal writing workshop. The GIA Program offers financial support for the execution of initiatives and projects aligned with the priorities and focus areas outlined by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). It also backs Science and Technology (S&T) activities categorized in the General Appropriations Act (GAA).
