“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Wynn Ann Palenge – David was a St. La Salle scholar who worked as a telemarketer of the Lasallian Legacy Fund from 2007 to 2010, promoting the fund raising campaign to DLSU alumni to support Lasallian scholars.

As a telemarketer, she learned from alumni who shared their experiences in college and even gave her tips to manage her professional career.  As a scholar, Ann developed the discipline to manage her studies.. “It was a challenge to balance my duty as a telemarketer and my responsibility as a student.  This inspired me to always do my best to reach my goals. This did not wear off, even up to now, as I grow professionally.”

Immediately after completing her Applied Economics degree in 2010, Ann committed to give back to DLSU.  “I felt the urge to support the campaign even with the humble salary I received from my first job.  I know that another financially challenged student will benefit from any amount I donate,” Ann shares.

Ann owes her success to the Lasallian Legacy Fund. “The campaign that I promoted once has changed my life as well as other scholars.  You don’t need to donate a huge amount to support this campaign.  Any amount can make a difference.”

Ann has been contributing annually to the Lasallian Legacy Fund.  “The legacy fund is always on top of my list every time  I receive my annual bonus.  I know that my life would not have been the same if I did not receive the same support from our donors.”

“The University prepared us well for life after school and  taught us how to adapt to the fast paced environment,” Ann discloses.  “From mock interviews to student leadership in organizations, these activities molded us to be Lasallian achievers for God and country.”

At present, Ann works as a Fund Accounting Officer at Northern Trust.  As a fur mom, she also supports advocacies on animal care.
