Lasallian Volunteers conduct COVID-19 response

KAISA: A Sagip-Estrelya Collaboration Project is a student volunteer-led COVID-19 response effort of De La Salle University to accompany partner communities that are greatly affected by this pandemic. Seven (7) student volunteer groups have been convened since April 2020 to provide the immediate needs of the target beneficiaries, as well as to organize more relevant and sustainable activities for them.

KAISA chose 30 to 40 barangay volunteers and frontliners, the December 2019 Brgy 717 and 718 fire victims and 40 children of St. La Salle Preschool enrolled in AY 2019-2020 to be the beneficiaries of the project.

A total of Php 85,257.50 cash was collected to utilize buying food packs, medical supplies, and PPE. Moreover 600 hot meals and Php 29,000 worth of medical supplies and protective shields were distributed.

The Lasallian Mission Student Volunteers under the Office of the Vice President for Lasallian Mission and Office of Student Affairs include:

  • 247th NROTCU Reservist Instructors (NSTP and Formation Office)
  • De La Salle – Red Cross Youth (Center for Social Concern and Action)
  • Lasallian Ambassadors (Office of Student Leadership Involvement, Formation, and Empowerment)
  • Lasallian Outreach and Volunteer Effort (Center for Social Concern and Action)
  • OCCS Student Representatives (Office of Counseling and Career Services)
  • Paragons (Student Discipline Formation Office)
  • Student Lasallian Animators (Lasallian Pastoral Office)
