These are non-thesis track master’s programs that aim to update and enrich the student’s content knowledge in a chosen discipline. The graduate of any of these programs will be able to improve his/her teaching effectiveness through the use of research-based, innovative and creative instructional instruments and programs. The proficient roster of faculty members from the Br. Andrew Gonzalez FSC College of Education handles the pedagogical aspect of the program while the specialists from the College of Science teach the major (biology, chemistry, mathematics, or physics) courses.

enhance the teacher’s Pedagogical Content Knowledge in Biology/Chemistry/

develop creative and innovative teaching methodologies in the field of Biology/Chemistry/Mathematics/Physics Education.
develop and validate an innovative assessment instrument that measures a relevant science/mathematics teaching/learning construct accurately.
conduct an Action Research that will contribute to the body of knowledge in Biology/Chemistry/Mathematics/Physics Education.
ELGA 2: Effective Communicator

integrate the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the teaching of Biology/Chemistry/Mathematics/Physics .
critique current research findings and methodologies in the field of Biology Education.
present issues in the field of Biology/Chemistry/Mathematics/Physics Education and convey one’s stand after analyzing the different perspectives involved in the issue.
present an Action Research that will contribute to the body of knowledge in Biology/Chemistry/Mathematics/Physics Education.
ELGA 3: Reflective Lifelong Learner

reflect and evaluate one’s own teaching philosophy in the light of current literature on the teaching-learning process
