Strategic Management of Intellectual Property Certificate Course Batch 3 Culminating Activity
From April 2 to 4, De La Salle University hosted the 12th Innovation and Technology Fair at The Verdure, Henry Sy Sr. Hall, celebrating the theme “Haraya: The Symphony of Creativity and Intellectual Property.” The three-day event brought together innovators, artists, educators, and legal minds for an inspiring exchange on intellectual property (IP), innovation, and artistic excellence.
The festivities opened with powerful performances by Benilde Experimental Dance and Music Production student Paul Resty Arcega. DLSU President Br. Bernard Oca, FSC, formally opened the fair alongside Dr. Raymond Tan and Atty. Christopher Cruz. Keynotes from IPOPHL’s Atty. Brigitte da Costa-Villaluz and DTI’s Dir. Jo Dann Darong emphasized IP’s vital role in empowering creative industries.
Lively discussions followed, covering topics from copyright in music to performance rights in theater, featuring experts from IPOPHL, SIKAP, and DLSU’s creative community. The second day brought excitement with Lasallians Got Talent, spotlighting ten exceptional performers from De La Salle schools. Lawrence Luke Yacat (DLSU Manila) took home the grand prize, leaving audiences in awe.
Innovation took center stage through interactive tech exhibits, where students and professionals presented groundbreaking projects. Top student award went to Agapay’s Robot-Assisted Therapy Device, while BamBoards led the professional category with their bamboo biocomposite solution. Project HOPE earned the People’s Choice Award for its impact and creativity.
The fair culminated in the 6th IPOPHL-DLSU Research Conference on IP and Innovation, with 50 presentations selected from over 200 submissions nationwide. Highlights included award-winning research from Romblon State University and the University of the Philippines, showcasing the country’s growing IP awareness and innovation potential.
More than just a celebration, the fair served as a dynamic platform to promote a culture of creativity, protection of ideas, and collaboration across disciplines. It reinforced the message that innovation and intellectual property go hand-in-hand in building a brighter, more creative future.
