Prof. Ma. Angeles G. Lapeña is a research fellow at the DLSU Social Development Research Center and former faculty member of the Department of Psychology of the DLSU College of Liberal Arts. She obtained her M.A. in Psychology from the University of the Philippines-Diliman. She has served as project director, deputy project director, resource person and/or co-researcher for various systems monitoring concerns of agencies (government:  Department of Interior Local Government, Department of Health’s Bureau of Quarantine, Bureau of Food and Drugs, Bureau of Health Facilities Regulation, Bureau of Planning and Policy; and non-government: SOS Children’s Villages Philippines, UNICEF, Petron Foundation, Sa Aklat Sisikat Foundation, Nomura Research Institute, and Education for Life Foundation). At SDRC she has been project director of the studies “Communication Analysis of Maternal and Neonatal Health with Emphasis on the Role of Community Health Teams in Facilitating the Adoption of Positive Behaviors in the Context of Conflict and Rapid Urbanization in Selected LGUs in Mindanao and Quezon City,” “Health Facility Assessment of Zuellig Family Foundation’s Donated Barangay Health Stations and Birthing Units,” and “Complementing DILG Assessment of MDG Localization Efforts: Cross Checking LGU Data and Capacity Building on Data Analysis and Utilization”; and was deputy director for the late Dr. Exaltacion E. Lamberte on the study “The Assessment of Child and Family Welfare System in the Philippines.” Her areas of research interest are in Filipino personality assessment, cognitive test development, and indigenous research methodologies.
