Dr. Romeo B. Lee is a full professor at the DLSU Department of Behavioral Science, a research fellow at SDRC and the editor of its publications Revving up Research Innovations for Social Development: Methods and Perspectives (2019) and Voices, Narratives, and Knowledge on COVID-19 Lockdown in the Philippines: Sociocultural Impact of the Pandemic Lockdown (2021). He obtained his Ph.D. in Demography from Australian National University, and his M.A. in Population Research from Exeter University in the United Kingdom. He has been a representative of the Consortium for Global Health Research, Teaching and Training, of which Mahidol University—where he is an adjunct member of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities—is a member. He is also the editor-in-chief of the Asia-Pacific Social Science Review, and a member of the International Advisory Committee on Health Promotion of the ASEAN University Network. At SDRC Dr. Lee has been project director of the studies “How DOH and Other Interventions Close the Gap in Health Outcome Disparities among LGUs,” “Support for Action Research on Male Perspectives on Gender and Family Violence,” “Towards a Holistic Gender-Balanced Understanding of Developmental Concerns in the Philippines: A State of the Art Review of Women’s Health Studies and Action Projects with Male Participation,” and, with Prof. Julius Dasmariñas, “Sustaining Capacity Building Among PATH-Assisted Organizations.” His areas of specialization are in demography, population, and reproductive health.
