Dr. Jerome V. Cleofas is a registered nurse and health social scientist. Dr. Cleofas is a professor and chair of the Department of Sociology and Behavioral Sciences at DLSU. He is currently the chair of the Research Capacity Building Committee of the Metro Manila Health Research and Development Consortium. He was the 2023 Vice President of the Philippine Sociological Society and was recently elected into the DOST National Research Council of the Philippines Social Sciences Division Executive Committee as the Section Chair for Sociology, Social Work, and Demography for 2024 to 2026. Jerome has multiple research articles published in SCOPUS and Web of Science-indexed journals. Currently, he has more than fifty documents listed in SCOPUS. He has served as principal and co-investigator on locally and internationally funded research projects on disaster resilience, COVID-19 misinformation, tobacco marketing, tuberculosis program evaluation, and decoloniality in health. His research interests include sociocultural and digital determinants of health, youth and emerging adulthood, family and gender studies, decoloniality, and nursing studies. Dr. Jerome has been honored with the 2024 Outstanding Young Scientist Award in the Field of Sociology by the National Academy of Science and Technology, Philippines.
