Dr. Roberto E. Javier, Jr. is a full professor and currently Chair of the Department of Psychology of the DLSU College of Liberal Arts, with expertise in Filipino Psychology. A certified psychology specialist of the Psychological Association of the Philippines (PAP), he obtained his Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Santo Tomas and his M.A. in Education, major in Psychology, from De La Salle-Araneta University. At SDRC, Dr. Javier is project director of the study “Documentation and Development of a Research to Assess and Evaluate the Implementation of RA 9994 or the Expanded Senior Citizen Act of 2010 (Phase 1 – Section C, D and H: Health and Social Benefits).” He earlier headed the studies “Assessment of Existing Competencies of Child Development Workers (CDWs) Towards Progressive Achievement of National Competency Standards,” “Baseline and Impact Assessment of Health Literacy Project in Region VI,” “Qualitative Analysis on the Feasibility of a Universal Social Pension in the Philippines,” “From the Margins to the Mainstream of Society: Transforming the Lives of Workers with Exceptionality, their Co-workers, Business, Corporate Practices, Policies and the Workplace,” and “Comprehensive Study on Scholarship and Financial Assistance Program in the Philippines.” He was also research associate for the projects “Improving HIV Programme Access and Programme Coverage for Key Populations in the Philippines: Geographical and Programmatic Mapping Study in Quezon City, Philippines” and “How DOH and Other Interventions Close the Gap in Health Outcome Disparities among LGUs.” He has been a facilitator for seminar-workshops on Filipino social behavior, OFW cross-cultural experiences, and dementia prevention.
