Dr. Joel P. Ilao is Director of the De La Salle University Advanced Research Institute for Informatics, Computing and Networking (AdRIC) and an associate professor of the Department of Computer Technology of the College of Computer Studies; previously he served as Director of Research and Advanced Studies for the College. Dr. Ilao obtained his Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of the Philippines-Diliman. He has been the recipient of numerous grants from the Department of Science and Technology Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST PCIEERD), including one for an ongoing study entitled “SELLA Project – EEG-Integrated Wheelchair Power Unit for Patients with Physical Disabilities.” At SDRC he has been part of the research team for the National Historical Commission of the Philippines-commissioned study “Digitization and Digital Asset Management of Archival Materials in the History of Leprosy in the Philippines.”
