The AB English Language Studies program is designed to equip the learner with necessary knowledge of the English language, specifically its structure, development, theories, and its application in various speech and writing situations, with emphasis on critical thinking, integration of technology, and multiliteracies. It is also designed to strengthen the learner’s competencies in the English language, primarily in speaking and in writing effectively, including journalistic writing, translation, technical and academic writing, creative writing, and public speaking. Various activities embedded in the program aim to reinforce knowledge and competence through the practical application of competencies acquired in the workplace. Career opportunities include English language teaching, research and training, publishing, editing, advertising, broadcast communication, public relation, corporate communications consultancies, and higher studies in language education and in related fields such as law, journalism, and mass communication.
