LSEED highlights collective action for social entrepreneurship on 10th anniversary

The Lasallian Social Enterprise for Economic Development (LSEED) Center held a ceremonial signing of Memorandum of Understanding on Lasallian Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainability, coinciding with LSEED’s 10th anniversary celebrations last March 11. 

Under the MOU, the University will strengthen collaboration with the Cooperative Development Authority, British Council Philippines, and Global Reporting Initiative, particularly on the promotion of social entrepreneurship and sustainable development. 

Centering on the theme “Collective Action for the Future: Lasallian Social Entrepreneurship,” LSEED’s celebration gathered partners, students, advocates, and members of the social enterprise ecosystem at the Henry Sy, Sr. Hall. 

In his message, Dr. Norby Roque Salonga, LSEED Center director and associate professor at the Ramon V. del Rosario College of Business, highlighted how the Center has grown into a platform that advances social entrepreneurship, community empowerment, and inclusive development through partnerships with communities, organizations, and students.

Ten LSEED partners were recognized for their continued collaboration in creating community-based enterprises and inclusive economic opportunities. The Center also presented a Special Recognition Award to DLSU President Br. Bernard Oca FSC. 

Vice President for Lasallian Mission Fritzie Ian De Vera delivered a message, underscoring the importance of strengthening partnerships and sustaining the Lasallian commitment to service, social innovation, and community transformation.  For  the closing remarks, Vice President for External Relations and Internationalization Prof. Anthony Shun Fung Chiu  recognized the role of LSEED Center in various areas including internationalization.
