Campus Biodiversity

OH WOW!!!

Hanging from one of the myriad [of] stems of a plant along La Salle Building is this Psyche butterfly (Leptosia nina). A delicate white (almost angelic) species that moves around in an erratic and low-flying dance over grassy patches. It’s also called the “wandering snowflake” for its pale wings marked by subapical black spots.

It is native to Southeast Asia, including the Philippines, and particularly thrives in open spaces like university campuses.
