Modeling Best Practices: SDRC Welcomes Visiting Faculty from Surigao del Norte State University
More collaborations with higher education institutions in Southern Philippines seem to be in store for DLSU-SDRC.
The Center welcomed a group of administrators and faculty from Surigao del Norte State University on August 2, 2024. The SNSU team had selected De La Salle University-Manila as the HEI to visit for their benchmarking explorations, with particular interest in best practices in research, capability building initiatives, securing funds for research projects, research for community extension, and monitoring and evaluation.
Led by Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Mauricio S. Adlaon and Vice President for Administration Rowena A. Plando, the group representing the Math, Social Sciences and Teacher Education departments together with the SNSU City Campus Director and the Dean of Graduate Studies were given an introduction to the Center, its research activities and facilities by SDRC Research Associate Maria Margareth Geluz. Gifts of recent SDRC publications were also presented to the group by SDRC Director Dr. Homer Yabut.
The group later proceeded to Andrew Hall to listen to the brown bag presentation on research project management delivered by Research Fellow and Department of Sociology and Behavioral Sciences Associate Professor Dr. Jerome Cleofas, and facilitated by Ms. Geluz and DSBS Associate Professor Dr. Crisanto Regadio, Jr.
The activity was the second benchmarking visit to SDRC in a week from an HEI in Mindanao, following the July 29 meeting with administrative and academic faculty from the Notre Dame of Dadiangas University.
