kada·uno

The kada-uno initiative is a unified approach in responding to COVID-19. Drawn from the term bawa’t isa, the initiative integrates the efforts of Lasallian and partner institutions in the country as we continue to aid the most vulnerable to the disease. But more than just a response, kada-uno is a call to individuals, it is a call to YOU!

We encourage the Lasallian Family and our fellow Filipinos to play a role, no matter how big or small, in helping contain and, eventually, end the threat of COVID-19. No one will be left behind and every deed will be counted.

From this direction, we drew inspiration to pursue DLSU’s mission inspite of the difficulties posed by the current pandemic.

Isang Libo, Kada Uno!

We have reached our initial target, but certainly, we can help more!

To date, more than 1,000 homeless families in Metro Manila have no access to basic needs and are hungry, exposed to COVID-19, and unable to receive aid from local government because they have no formal address. They are the most vulnerable sector. The Lasallian community has adopted over 1,000 of these families, but needs your help to feed them.

It just takes P1,000 a week to feed a family of five. Any amount to contribute in feeding these families are very much welcome!

The Isang Libo, Kada Uno campaign was initiated by De La Salle Philippines together with three decades of DLSU Student Council and University Student Government Presidents.

Safe Shelter for Frontliners

Even as we each try to do our part in stemming the spread of the COVID-19, there are those on the frontlines who, by virtue of their calling, are doing even more. They are the medical professionals and health workers who each day risk health and life in service to the sick and the afflicted. These doctors, nurses, and providers of support services are today’s heroes, who confirm their heroism repeatedly, every day that they choose to come to work and stand by those entrusted to their care. We have seen their sacrifices and we have seen its cost. Many of them are being pushed to physical and emotional exhaustion even as the number of infections increases. Early in the quarantine period, 18 doctors have passed away, and though not all fell by the COVID-19 virus, they each did so in performance of their duties in these difficult times.

De La Salle University opened its doors to provide hospitality and relief to healthcare workers of the need of physical rest and recuperation.

Through the generosity of the Lasallian Family, we were able to gather donations worth PHP 1,006,720.90.
