Job Descriptions/Summary

The Solutions Architect is responsible for organizing the development effort of a systems solution, translating the overall vision that underlies the projected solution into execution. This role involves designing, developing, and overseeing the implementation of comprehensive technology solutions that align with the University’s strategic objectives and business requirements. The Solutions Architect acts as a key technical expert, collaborating closely with development teams, project managers, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient IT solutions, ensuring the seamless integration of various IT systems, applications, and data across the University’s ecosystem. They are the critical link between the needs of the organization and the developers, ensuring proper implementation of chosen technologies.

Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly preferred.
  2. 2–4 years of progressive experience in software development, system analysis, or IT architecture, including 2–3 years in a Solutions Architect or design-focused role with experience in complex system integrations.
  3. Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture principles and architectural patterns such as microservices, service-oriented architecture (SOA), and event-driven architecture.
  4. Experience in API-led integration design, along with familiarity with integration technologies and platforms such as ESB, API gateways, and ETL tools.
  5. Solid understanding of database systems (relational and NoSQL), data modeling, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and cloud-native architecture, as well as the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  6. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts clearly and work effectively both independently and within a team.
