Security Administrator

The Security Administrator is responsible for the technical implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of information security controls across the University’s hybrid infrastructure (on-premise and cloud). This includes the protection of systems, networks, servers, and data through effective configuration management, access control, and incident response.

In alignment with the Information Security Officer, the Security Administrator contributes to the broader information security program by ensuring that both cybersecurity measures (digital infrastructure protection) and non-cyber information safeguards (physical access control, secure handling of information assets) are consistently enforced within IT–Infrastructure Management.

This role ensures that security technologies, standards, and operational practices support the University’s information security policies, compliance requirements, and business continuity objectives.

1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
2. 2–4 years of hands-on experience in IT security, network security, or server administration, including experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
3. Professional IT security certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP, CISM, CEH) and cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Cloud Practitioner, Azure Administrator) are highly desirable.
4. In-depth knowledge of network security, including firewalls (Cisco, Fortinet), IDS/IPS, VPNs, and Windows Server security (Active Directory, Group Policy, access controls).
5. Experience with vulnerability scanning, remediation, SIEM tools, cloud security, and scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash) for automation and monitoring.
6. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
