DLSU Signs Deed of Donation for Julius Manalo Scholarship Grant

De La Salle University signed a Deed of Donation on July 16, formally establishing the Julius Manalo Scholarship Grant. The grant will provide vital support to an incoming freshman STEM student, offering a living allowance to help cover dormitory and daily expenses — easing the financial burdens that often accompany university life.
The scholarship grant is named in honor of Mr. Julius Manalo, whose resilience and life journey have inspired many. By recognizing his story, DLSU hopes to encourage future scholars to embrace the Lasallian spirit of compassion, service, and paying it forward.
DLSU President Br. Bernard S. Oca FSC emphasized the deeper mission behind this new grant, noting, “As Lasallians, we are called not only to excel but also to serve — to use the gifts we’ve been given to uplift others and help build a more compassionate world. The Julius Manalo Scholarship Grant is a shining example of this mission in action, planting seeds of hope and inspiring future Lasallians to do the same.”
The signing ceremony was led by Br. Bernard S. Oca FSC, with Mr. Julius Manalo and his family in attendance, alongside Executive Director of the Advancement and Alumni Relations Office Mr. Edwin Reyes, Director of the Office for Admissions and Scholarships Ms. Grichelle Prado, and Assistant Director Ms. Vivian Sy.
Through this new scholarship, DLSU reaffirms its commitment to empowering talented, purpose-driven students and nurturing future leaders in STEM — one life at a time.
