Developing Sound Qualitative and Quantitative Research Proposals Training and MOA Signing in Bohol
We’re thrilled to announce a significant milestone in the academic landscape of Bohol Island State University (BISU) and the Social Development Research Center (SDRC) of De La Salle University, Manila. A promising chapter unfolded with the signing of a 3-year Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) cementing a research partnership between BISU and SDRC. Dr. Homer Yabut, the esteemed director of SDRC, and Dr. Maria Lilibeth Castil, VP for Academics and Quality Assurance at BISU, inked the agreement. The SDRC engagement with BISU was made easier by swift and active correspondence with Dr. Ivy Corazon Mangaya-ay, the Vice-President for Research, Innovation, and Extension, and Mr. Marc Olaguir, the Director of Extension Office at the BISU-Balilihan Campus.
The two-day training workshop, held in Tagbilaran City from June 10-11, 2024, witnessed a convergence of faculty researchers from various BISU campuses. Dr. Castil extended a warm welcome to the attendees, setting the stage for an enriching experience. Workshop speakers, including Dr. Homer Yabut, Dr. Jerome Cleofas, and Dr. Zaldy Collado, shared knowledge and experiences in crafting robust research proposals in both quantitative and qualitative realms. Dr. Crisanto Regadio Jr. skillfully steered the proceedings, ensuring clarity and engagement throughout.
Day two saw an insightful discourse on the nuances of publishing research in scientific journals, led by Dr. Cleofas and Dr. Collado. Dr. Regadio further fueled participants’ aspirations with invaluable insights into research proposal development. The afternoon session witnessed vibrant brainstorming sessions, where participants unveiled their proposed topics, laying the groundwork for future endeavors. With a series of workshops slated in the coming months and years, this partnership promises a journey filled with discovery, collaboration, and scholarly excellence. The two-day workshop was also carried out with the valuable assistance of SDRC support staff Ms. Relly Limliman, and Ms. Lyndia Navarro.
