Camille: A Lasallian always in all ways
Lasallian Legacy Fund Campaign: Feature story
In college, Camille (donor opted not to use her full name) came across the DLSU slogan, Christian (Lasallian) achievers for God and country. “During that time, I was still a Psychology student. I did not know how to be a true Christian. I honestly could not take to heart what it means. But now, I’m always trying to live it up although it’s obviously a lifetime process.”
She learned about the Lasallian Legacy Fund campaign years ago in an online platform. Since 2008, she has been supporting the campaign to help deserving students and to give them the opportunity to pursue their studies in DLSU or any La Salle school. From an initial plan of making a one-time annual donation, she decided to make it on a monthly basis as she saw that “no matter how small, it will really go a long way.”
“If only I can support my less fortunate friends’ family so they can also have the opportunity to finish their studies in DLSU, I would. However, we know that this could be financially challenging. My best option is to support through this (LLF) campaign,” Camille added.
The Lasallian slogan became a call for her to serve the less fortunate ones and to continue supporting other DLSU advocacies as well as other NGOs and non-profit organizations. “I am doing this not just for this (LLF) campaign, but for all our neighbors in need.”
Proud of her Lasallian roots, Camille shares her gratefulness to her alma mater. “I was just an average student, yet blessed to have finished my degrees from this school – Psychology (undergraduate), and Master of Arts in Counseling (post graduate). I know I won’t be where I am right now without DLSU and I really thank God for having brought me here. Being part of the DLSU community sure helped a lot in my endeavors. Hence, I am giving back.”
For Camille, being able to support herself is a blessing from God. “I’m definitely not one of the richest people in the world, but He has given and continues to give me enough to support myself and be able to give back.”
“I pray for God to continue to provide so that we can be used as an instrument in supporting not just this Lasallian Legacy Fund campaign, but also other advocacies.”

“Through the legacy fund, we can provide to deserving and gifted young minds the lifelong tools they will need to uplift and better their circumstances and lead lives fully expressive of humanity, self-determination, and dignity.”
