May 13, 2026Two distinguished faculty members from De La Salle University were recently conferred the prestigious 2026 Severino and Paz Koh Lectureship Awards by the Philippine American Academy of Science and Engineering (PAASE). The awards recognize exceptional scholars for their outstanding contributions to the national and international scientific community.
Dr. Allan B.I. Bernardo, University Fellow, Distinguished University Professor, and National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) Academician, was named the recipient of the 2026 Severino and Paz Koh Lectureship Award for Science. He was honored for his groundbreaking work in psychological science, education, hope and well-being, culture, inequality, and human development. Bernardo is the first scholar in the social sciences to receive the award.
Meanwhile, Dr. Aristotle Ubando, Full Professor and Research Fellow from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, received the 2026 Severino and Paz Koh Lectureship Award for Technology. He was recognized for his exceptional research and development productivity, global visibility, and pioneering contributions to sustainable engineering, torrefaction, life-cycle assessment, and circular bioeconomy systems.Bernardo and Ubando will be featured as lecturers at the 2026 Annual PAASE Meeting and Symposium to be held from May 28 to 29 at Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar, Bataan.
