Job Descriptions/Summary

The general function of Laboratory Technician is to safe-keep, organize and account laboratory equipment and apparatuses as well as assist students in operating laboratory equipment and apparatuses.

Qualifications
  1. Graduate of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related programs such as Industrial Technology, Electro-Mechanical Technology, Production/Manufacturing Technology, or other engineering/technology courses.
  2. Registered Mechanical Engineer (RME) and/or Certified Plant Mechanic (CPM) is an advantage.
  3. With DOST, TESDA, or other relevant training/certifications related to safety, laboratory operations, calibration and measurement, fuels and oils, equipment and machinery (e.g., air conditioning, refrigeration, pumps, turbines), and other mechanical engineering fields such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, fluid machinery, refrigeration and air conditioning, and power plant operations.
  4. 1–5 years of relevant experience, preferably with practical skills in laboratory operations, equipment handling, testing procedures, and laboratory data analysis.
  5. Experience as a Laboratory Technician, with hands-on knowledge in operating and maintaining mechanical laboratory equipment such as boilers, pumps, turbines, testing rigs, HVAC trainers, and metrology instruments.
  6. Knowledgeable in laboratory setup, safety protocols, and experimental procedures; computer literate with proficiency in MS Office, and demonstrates strong attention to detail, responsibility, and reliability.
