Turbinaria eminens

Nemenzo, 1971

This is merely a rectification of the identification published in the fourth installment of this series. R. Wells was kind enough to call the writer’s attention to the fact that Lamarck’s T. palifera described by Bernard (Cat. Madrep. Brit. Mus., V., p. 67) is an Acropora (see also Brook, Cat. Madrep. Brit. Mus., v. 1, p. 132).

This new name is given to supersede T. palifera mentioned in the preceding paragraph hereof as published in the previous paper. The description however remains as published.

Since then, another specimen has been collected, C-1088. Its corallites are a little stouter but a little shorter than those of the type, C-406.
