Corallum 130 x 115 mm diameter. Similar to F. fungites but septal dentation high, papilliform towards center, usually becoming triangular towards margin. Fossa small, shallow, open. Margins of primary septa inside fossa bristling and apparently thickened with very abundant spatulate projections constituting the columella.

Costal spines seriate up to near the center or only about half of the way from the periphery. Central imperforate area a fifth or a sixth of diameter of corallum, covered with spines equal or subequal to those on costal ridges.

A small specimen from the same place has thicker septa of the first 2 or 3 cycles with coarser teeth especially near central fossa.
