Professor Merlin Suarez

Dr. Merlin Suarez is a Professor of Computer Science at De La Salle University in the Philippines. Her research interests include emotion-aware computing systems, and technology support for students’ mental health. She is an advocate of learner-centered education, and during her stint as Vice Chancellor for Academics, adopted the use of a learning management system for the entire university to enable teachers to customize students’ learning experiences. She is currently working on a learning analytics project to analyze student behavior in AnimoSpace.
