SAMSON, BRIANE PAUL V.
He's an Assistant Professor at the College of Computer Studies, De La Salle University. He mainly teaches courses on Software Engineering, Web and Mobile Development, and Human-Computer Interactions. He currently heads the Center for Complexity and Emerging Technologies (ComET) and is part of the Complex Systems research group. As a computing researcher in the field of complex systems, he focuses on the creation of models and simulations for urban and transportation systems in Metro Manila and other Philippine metropolitan areas. He believes that some major challenges we face today include finding ways to understand how metropolitan cities work, operate and "live", and consequently inform local governments in making representative, sound and sustainable planning decisions. Aside from complex systems, modelling and simulation, he also works on the areas of natural language processing (relation extraction) and machine vision.
