Animo Space FAQs

Start of Term Reminders

  1. Here are some reminders for TEACHERS:
    • Make sure that your DLSU Google account is active. If not, please visit IT
      Services at the 3rd Floor of Gokongwei Building or send them an email at [email protected]
    • If you are logging in to AnimoSpace for the first time, use a Browser, e.g. Chrome
      or Firefox, to login and customize your account. The URL is
      animospace.dlsu.edu.ph.
    • Once logged in, setup your account notification preferences so you get
      communication in your AnimoSpace account.
    • If you are using a mobile device, you can download the Canvas for Teachers
      mobile application from Google Play Store or iOS App Store.
    • Please make sure that you check out this LINK at the start of each term.
      1. ACCEPT the course assigned to you by your Department
      2. Customize Course Detail Settings
      3. Simplify Course Navigation by hiding unnecessary navigation link
      4. Upload or import your course syllabus and instruction materials
      5. Cleanup imported content (optional)
      6. Setup assignment groups (optional)
      7. Verify calendar (optional)8. Setup grading scheme (optional)
      8. Authenticate availability of 3rd party tools (optional)
      9. Choose a Home Page for the course
      10. Verify students in the People link
      11. Publish the course and its contents
      12. Review the course in Student View
  2. For discrepancies and other concerns, please contact IT Services. In case there are any
    changes in course assignment or related matters, these changes will be reflected 24
    hours after your request. For requests made on Saturdays, changes will reflect on the
    next working day.

End of Term Reminders

  1. Courses in AnimoSpace will be automatically concluded for teachers.
    • Concluded courses will be archived. These can be accessed by going to
      Courses -> All Courses -> Past Enrolments.
    • Classlist can still be viewed.
    • Assignments submitted by students can still be viewed with instructor feedback
      and grades. New submissions cannot be uploaded.
    • Assignments submitted can still be downloaded from the course.
    • Files can still be viewed and downloaded from the course.
    • New assignments, quizzes, and discussions cannot be made.
    • Grades remain visible in the Gradebook.
    • Grades can be exported, but changes cannot be made. Ungraded assignments,
      quizzes, and discussions cannot be graded.
    • Quiz analytics can be viewed.
  2. Teachers can extend the course end date by changing the Course Settings. Teachers
    can also request IT Services to extend the end date for them.
  3. Teachers who are using the Grading facility of AnimoSpace will still need to upload the
    final grades to My LaSalle. The AnimoSpace Gradebook is not connected to My
    LaSalle.
  4. Course materials (i.e., syllabus, instruction slides, etc.) and test questions from a
    concluded course can be exported and imported to a new course anytime. There is no
    need to export the materials before the conclusion date.5. For other concerns, please contact IT Services. In case there are changes that needed
    to be made, these changes will be reflected 24 hours after your request. For requests
    made on Saturdays, changes will reflect on the next working day.

FAQs

Q: Wrong faculty assigned to course (e.g., I cannot access the course assigned to me, or I’m able to access a course not assigned to me)
A: The courses are been loaded and assigned to faculty based on the course offering that was uploaded by OUR in MLS. There are two ways to update faculty assignment or load:
(1) Ask your Chair or Vice-Chair to update Animospace enrollments (changes will take effect immediately)
(2) Have the APO update the MLS (changes will take effect after 24 hours)+
(3) Submit a request to ASIST

Q: I accidentally concluded the course
A: Please contact [email protected]

Q: I want to have a blueprint course
A: All regularly offered courses have a corresponding blueprint course. The department chairs/vice-chairs can assign the blueprint to any faculty in their department. For a personal blueprint, you may request it to ASIST.

Q: I do not have a Sandbox course
A: All faculty can already create their own sandbox courses. If there are no options for this in your dashboard, contact [email protected]

Q: The course code is wrong
A: Ask your Chair or Vice Chair to update the Course Profile Form (CPF)

Q: Students cannot access the course
A: Make sure the course is already published

Q: I forgot how to do things in AnmoSpace (e.g., how to upload, publish, etc.)
A: Please undergo the online Animospace Training Modules. You may also consult us online by sending us a chat a [email protected] or onsite at the ASIST office

Q: Can I add/remove students?
A: No. Class lists are automatically updated by the ITS office based on enrolment

Q: Can I add/remove teachers?
A: No. The teachers are automatically updated by the ITS office based on updated plantilla

Q: Where can I go to work on my AnimoSpace?
A: The ASIST office at M216 has 10 computers for faculty to use when there is no training session

Q: What are the access rights of the department chair?
A: Department chairs and vice chairs can view the courses within their departments and add/remove teachers in a course.

Q: Can I convert my F2F session to online?
A: Yes. You may accomplish the alternative class (pink) form subject to existing guidelines.

Q: Where can I sign up for training?
A: Stay tuned for announcements regarding training.

Q: My students cannot see the course, modules, pages, and/or resources I uploaded
A: Double-check that you have published the course (from the Home page, click the Publish button on the right column), and/or the modules. pages, resources (click on the check icon to turn it to green indicating it is published)

Q: How do you manage what courses appear in the Dashboard?
A: Refer to this online tutorial: Link

Q: What does the eye-with-slash mean besides my tools? Does it mean the tool is disabled?
A: It does not mean that the tool is disabled. It is just temporarily hidden, as no published items are inside the tool. Creating and publishing items will automatically enable the tools for the students.

End of Term Reminders

  • Courses in AnimoSpace will be automatically concluded.
  • Students cannot view and download course materials (i.e., syllabus, lecture slides, media),
    quizzes, discussions, and grades once the course has concluded. However, personal
    files and assignments submitted to concluded courses can still be viewed and
    downloaded in Account -> Files folder.
  • Additionally, you may also organize your own ePortfolio in Account -> ePortfolios. Simply click “Create an ePortfolio” and choose the submissions you want to include in your portfolio pages. Click the “Go to the Actual ePortfolio” to see your portfolio. Note that your ePortfolio is private, meaning people can’t find it or even view it without permission. You can see it since it’s your portfolio, but if you want to let anybody else see it, you’ll need to copy and share the special link provided to give others access to your private ePortfolio.Refer to the “Getting Started Wizard” for more information about ePortfolio.

FAQs

  1. I do not know how to log in to Animospace. What is my Animospace Username and Password?
  2. I cannot log in to Animospace
    • Make sure that you have already activated your MLS/Email account.
      • Click here on how to activate your MLS account.
    • To access your online class,
      • Sign in first to your DLSU Email in http://mail.dlsu.edu.ph and then to Animospace in https://animospace.dlsu.edu.ph
        Note:  Logging in to your DLSU Email account authenticates your login to Animospace. Make sure that no other Gmail account is active in your browser.
    • If you are a late enrollee, try to log in again the following day.

  3. I am encountering the error “! Failed to Log in. “There was a problem logging in at De La Salle University. You can try to log in again.”
  4. I am encountering the error “Canvas doesn’t have an account for user: __________dlsu.edu.ph.”
    • Make sure that you have already activated your MLS/Email account.
      • Click here on how to activate your MLS account.
      • Check your correct DLSU email address and if you have enrolled courses in your MLS account.
        • Click here to know your DLSU email address
        • In MLS, click Print E.A.F link to view your enrolled courses
    • To access your online class,
      • Sign in first to your DLSU Email in http://mail.dlsu.edu.ph  
        • Note:  Logging in to your DLSU Email account authenticates your login to Animospace. Make sure that no other Gmail account is active in your browser.
      • and then to Animospace in https://animospace.dlsu.edu.ph.
    • If you are a late enrollee, try to log in again the following day.
    • For new students, it takes four (4) hours after MLS activation before you can login to Animospace

  5. I want to manage my Animospace Notifications
    • You can manage your Animospace email and app notifications. Click Account from your Global Navigation Pane and then click Notifications.
    • You can toggle whether you want to receive notifications or not per activity.

  6. I cannot view my course/s on my dashboard
    • Check the URL that you are accessing, it should be https://animospace.dlsu.edu.ph/
    • If you have a lot of courses on your dashboard…
      • Click on Courses
      • Click All Courses to view all your courses
    • If your faculty has not yet published the course, it will not appear on your dashboard.  Only published courses will be accessible to students. Please coordinate with the faculty to publish the course.
    • If your faculty has published the course and you are not added to the class, you will not see the course.
      • Check your class schedule in Anino.sys to make sure that you are enrolled in the class.
      • If you are a late enrollee, late enrollment is loaded within 24 hours.
    • If you want your course to appear in your dashboard, make sure to click the STAR icon near the course code.

  7. I am encountering the error “This course cannot be added to the course menu at this time.”
    • You cannot access the course and will not appear on your dashboard if it is not yet published. Only published courses will be accessible to students. 
    • Please coordinate with the faculty to publish the course.

  8. I want to transfer to a different section of the same course
    •  A daily update in Animospace class list is conducted based on MLS updates. As such, you should be in your new section one-day after you have finalized your transfer.

  9. I am encountering a problem with my courses in Animospace, all my subjects suddenly disappeared.
    • During week 5, all students with unpaid balances are automatically dropped by the system.  Coordinate with OAVCAS for the reinstatement of your enrollment.
      Note: For Term 1, AY2020-2021, the dropping of students with unpaid balances was moved from Week 5 to Week 11.
    • Students who have paid but whose payment records are not updated after ten (10) working days (not including Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays and Class Suspension), please accomplish this Google Form to notify the Finance & Accounting Office (FAO).
    • Log in to your MLS account to check the status of your payment.

  10. I can no longer view my previous courses
    • ​ When the term ends, all courses are automatically concluded or archived. 
    • To view previous courses, click Account from your Global Navigation Pane and then click Files.

  11. I would like to request for assistance with my Animospace account, where I can get support
    • Send email to [email protected] 
    • You can always reach out to your faculty.
      • In your Animospace account, click Help and then click Ask your Instructor a Question.
