Greetings in St La Salle!

It is with great purpose that De La Salle University joins the Laudato Si’ Action Platform and commits to becoming a Laudato Si’ University. As a Lasallian institution, our foundation is built on responding to the last, the least, and the lost. Ten years ago, inspired by Laudato Si’ and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, we amended our Vision-Mission to institutionalize our response to care for Mother Earth.  

This 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of our university charter and the launch of our Golden Jubilee Strategy for transformative education. It is deeply resonant that we conclude this year by embarking on the seven-year journey of transformation to integrate the Laudato Si’ Goals into the Lasallian mission.

We recognize that environmental care, social justice, and spiritual growth are inseparable. This Integral Ecology validates our whole-of-university approach to sustainability for social and environmental stewardship. In becoming a Laudato Si’ University, we ensure that our ethical pursuit of knowledge directly serves the restoration of our Common Home.

As we conclude our Golden Jubilee this year, De La Salle University renews the pledge enshrined in our Vision-Mission: to be ‘attuned to a sustainable Earth.’ This is our covenant to honor the Creator, to continue our history of stewardship for the sake of the generations that will walk these halls after us.

We embrace this covenant just as we live Jesus in our hearts, forever.
