DLSU, NYU collaborate on Stern Signature Project

As part of its internationalization efforts, De La Salle University through the Ramon V. del Rosario College of Business has partnered with the New York University Stern School of Business to implement the DLSU–NYU Stern Signature Project. The collaborative consulting engagement, which ran from January to April 2026, brought together three MBA students each from DLSU and NYU to work on a real-world business challenge with PHINMA Community Housing (CoHo).

The project was aimed at addressing the Philippines’ growing housing backlog—estimated at 6.5 million units as of 2025—by developing actionable strategies that balance social impact with financial sustainability for PHINMA CoHo’s affordable housing mission.

From DLSU, the project participants were Jan Jumine Reyes (team leader), Fernando Granada and Franchette Romjin Miller (members), and Dr. Mary Margaret Que (adviser). From NYU STERN, they were Kevin Jimenez (team leader), Kevin Yang and Luke Stephen (members) and Keshava Dasarathy (adviser).

Activities involved engagement with key government and institutional stakeholders and home buyers to understand the regulatory landscape and market realities of the community housing development.

The culminating activity of the Signature Project was a capstone presentation delivered at the NYU Stern campus in the U.S. in May. The DLSU–NYU Stern team presented their final recommendations to PHINMA Community Housing, with strategies anchored on three pillars: capital recovery, buyer conversion, and increased perceived value for PHINMA CoHo’s housing communities.

The final deliverables presented to PHINMA CoHo included: Social Impact Quantification Framework, Social Cohesion Model, Know-Your-Customer Application, Buyer Readiness Evaluation Tool, a customer brochure, and an interactive resource map.

A project report was presented by Department of Management Organization faculty members Dr. Raymund Habaradas and Dr. Glorife Samodio. It underscored the University’s commitment to internationalization, experiential learning, and industry-academe collaboration and providing MBA students with a platform to apply their knowledge to a real-world challenge of national significance—the Philippine housing crisis—while developing global competencies through cross-cultural teamwork with their NYU Stern counterparts.
