De La Salle University was recently bestowed the National Teacher Education Center of Excellence status by the country’s Teacher Education Council (TEC).

The University is recognized for exhibiting the highest standards of excellence in teaching education as signed by the organization

on June 3, 2026. Of the 13 institutions recognized, it is one of only five designated National COEs. The other eight are designated as Regional COEs.

As mandated by the Department of Education, TEC designates higher education institutions as COEs for their championing of key areas on teacher education–faculty qualifications, research, facilities, teacher preparation, graduate outcomes, and community engagement.

This development follows BAGCED’s recent achievements, particularly in the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers

(LEPT). In the March 2026 LEPT, DLSU garnered a passing rate of 100% for both the Elementary Education and Secondary Education programs, marking its third year posting a perfect passing rate.

It has also consistently surpassed the national performance rates and produced topnotchers over the years.

With its National COE status, DLSU seeks to advance teacher education through innovation and collaboration of shared best practices with other academic institutions.
