DLSU TDCOL Alumnus wins international legal writing award

In the recently concluded 2022 HK45 Essay Writing Competition, an alumnus of De La Salle University (DLSU) Tañada-Diokno College of Law (TDCOL) was awarded the 2nd runner-up prize in the Emerging Economy category.

Atty. Francis J. Bautista (JDCTR, 2021) won the 2nd runner-up prize for writing on the topic “Is there any room for ADR in blockchain disputes?” Atty. Bautista is a former Secretary-General of the DLSU Law Moot and Debate Society (LaMDeS), and was part of DLSU’s 2019 FDI International Arbitration Moot team which reached the Global Rounds of that competition. Atty. Bautista is currently an associate at Gatmaytan Yap Patacsil Gutierrez & Protacio (C&G Law).

HK45 is a group for young arbitration practitioners affiliated with the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC). This year’s competition is the second edition
of HK45’s Essay Writing Competition. The competition was judged by an esteemed panel of judges including Matthew Gearing QC; Sarah Grimmer; Jern-Fei Ng QC and Kathryn Sanger. The competition results were announced on 26 October 2022.
